As one of the best annual events in the Northwest, the Lynden Fair is something we look forward to every summer! Located at the Northwest Washington Fair and Event Center, our bed and breakfast is just about 15 minutes from all of the fun. You’ll be just a quick scenic drive to the world-class concerts, high-energy rodeo and demolition derby, and the best fair food this side of the Cascades.

Every year in August, the Lynden Fair offers a range of exciting events for the whole family to enjoy. There’s something for everyone, from grandstand events and arts and crafts booths to delicious food and carnival rides. What makes this fair so special is its focus on Whatcom County’s agricultural industry. Exhibits featuring canned goods, beautiful flowers, fresh produce, and more are on display. Additionally, members of 4H, FFA, and open-class exhibitors show their livestock, including dairy and beef cattle, horses, and pigs.

This is the largest event held in Lynden each year, so you’ll want to secure your lodging early. Our bed and breakfast mini-resort is one of the best places to stay! We have two cozy B&B suites in the main house, a three-bedroom rental cottage that shares our beautiful property, and a glamping lodge for a luxurious camping experience. All guests have access to our on-site indoor pool as well! We can’t wait to host you for the fair weekend and beyond this summer; book your lodging today.

More Things to do in Lynden this Summer:

Lynden was initially founded in the 1870s and was home to the largest Dutch settlement in the US. These immigrants are to thank for the abundance of dairy farms in the area. The small town has a lovely little main street to explore, and you’ll enjoy lots of fresh farm products on your trip here.

  1. The Annual Raspberry Festival: The farms surrounding Lynden produce the most raspberries in the nation, and they love celebrating this delicious red berry. Check out this free festival for a market, car show, and more.
  2. Explore Berthusen Park: This park, the site of a homestead in the late 1800s, features antique farm machinery, a historic cabin, a large red barn, and a fantastic playground with a great swing set for children.
  3. Bellewood Farms and Distillery: Head to this lovely apple orchard, gift shop, and distillery for apple picking, treats, and a tasting of the local spirits.
  4. Sweet Treats at the Lynden Dutch Bakery: Grabbing a pastry at this historic bakery is always one of the best things to do in Lynden!
  5. Dinner at The Mill: The highest-rated and most recommended restaurant in Lynden is The Mill—you won’t miss the windmill that it’s located inside. It’s been a local standout for decades, serving up cocktails, steak, and farm-fresh meals.
